Twitter Test Driver: Rudy Velickovski

Written by: Elyse Haid on January 10, 2012

Vehicle: 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD

Twitter Account: @rudyvelickovski

What did you like about the vehicle?

"I liked the seats; they made me feel very connected to the car. I also felt in total control due to the SH-AWD - I loved the control. The navigation was excellent as was the rear view camera. I also thought that the keyless start was cool - how you didn't need to use a key to start the car."

What was your overall impression of the vehicle?

"I was very surprised with how nice this vehicle is - it is a next generation vehicle. It feels more stable and does not feel like a typical Japanese car- more like a German sedan. It is the corvette of this category - the best bang for your buck".

What was your first impression when you saw the vehicle? When you first drove it?

"When I first drove it - the power was highly noticeable - both while driving and while stopped. The quality of the interior is very refined. Very nice materials. Very user friendly."

What didn't you like about the vehicle?

"The adaptive headlights are not there - like other models in the range. The Bluetooth had some issues with my phone - a NOKIA 6301.  Seemed a bit hard on gas".

What did your neighbours / friends say when they saw it parked in your driveway?

"The radical design was attracting a lot of attention from neighbours and other drivers. My friends loved the white and tan colour contrast and they loved the new styling. Everyone loved the dash button and interactivity that the car offers. They all loved the ride. A buddy who has a BMW 545i loved this car more and my other friend who drives an Audi A4 thought the all wheel drive felt better with the (Acura) TL."

Twitter Transcript

  • @rudyvelickovski: Twitter Test Drive: My initial impression after a full day of driving the all new 2009 Acura TL SH-AWD: This is a real driver's car!
  • @rudyvelickovski: From it's sophisticated lines, tremendous power delivery to all wheels, excellent navigation system, the TL is a true next generation vehicle
  • @rudyvelickovski: The All-Wheel Drive system proved itself last night during the rain, providing a safe and comfortable driving experience without any worry.
  • @rudyvelickovski: Three handy features that enhance this cars appeal are: First - Onboard navigation system has lane guidance, making directions a no brainer
  • @rudyvelickovski: Second - rear-view camera. I've never had this in a car before. Aside from the cool factor it provides, it makes backing up very safe and easy
  • @rudyvelickovski: Third - Bluetooth enabled audio system. I'm able to easily stream music from my Nokia mobile phone through the cars 440 watt sound system!
  • @rudyvelickovski: Having no concerns about the new TL, I would like to think that a few additions could be added to this great vehicle to make it even better:
  • @rudyvelickovski: Adaptive headlights that turn into the steering direction would add to safety, and folding side view mirrors are handy in tight spots too
  • @rudyvelickovski: It's hard not to have a "heavy foot" in this car since it's so much fun to drive, you feel in control at all times, just watch the fuel gauge
