Interior

Standard tri-zone climate controls allow separate temperature settings for the driver, front-row passengers and rear-seat passengers.
All models feature an 8-speaker audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback, auxiliary input jack, speed-compensated volume and auto tone controls.
A remote vehicle starter system operates from up to 200 feet away, providing peace of mind late at night or in a secluded parking area.
A Rearview Camera System for assisting with parking or trailer towing is available on LS and LT and Standard on LTZ models.
A rear DVD Entertainment System with overhead fold-down 8-in. monitor, RCA jacks, wireless headphones and remote control is available on the LT and LTZ models.
Innovative features on the Suburban include the LTZ’s power release fold-and-tumble heated 2nd-row bucket seats as well as a removable fold-and-tumble 3rd row bench.
A 9-speaker premium Bose sound system with subwoofer is standard on the LTZ and available on the LT.
Make yourself comfortable in the LTZ with power adjustable pedals, automatic climate controls, and leather-appointed heated front buckets seats with 2-position memory system.
Depending on the seating configuration you choose Suburban can accommodate as many as nine passengers.

Exterior

Standard trailer equipment includes weight-distributing hitch platform with hitch receiver, 7-pin sealed wiring connector and trailer brake wiring harness.
A snowplow prep package is available on 2500 4x4 LS and LT models.
A power sliding glass sunroof is available on the LT and LTZ models.
All models include a full-size 17” lockable spare tire under the rear frame.
The LTZ features a power rear liftgate that opens and closes with the keyless remote as well as a heated windshield washer fluid system and halogen fog lights.
The LT 1500 model adds standard fog lights, roof rack cross bars, 17” bright aluminum smooth 5-spoke wheels and an available sunroof.
The LS 1500 comes standard with black assist steps, power adjustable side mirrors, roof rack side rails, front tow hooks (4x4 model), keyless remote entry and 17” bright aluminum wheels.
20” Polished Aluminum wheels are standard on the 1500 LTZ and available on the 1500 LT. The 2500 models feature 16” polished forged aluminum wheels.
The New 2008 Suburban is available in a 1500 or 2500 model with your choice of 2WD or 4x4.

 

Mechanical

A sleek form with contoured front end and trailering roof line translates into a improved fuel economy.
The Suburban 1500 4x4 has a maximum payload of 751 kg. (1655 lbs.) and a maximum gross trailer weight of 3629 kg. (8000 lbs.).
The Suburban 2500 4x4 has a maximum payload of 1031 kg. (2272 lbs.) and a maximum gross trailer weight of 4309 kg. (9500 lbs.).
The re-engineered rack-and-pinion steering system delivers a more precise response to driver input.
Power-assisted 4-wheel vented disc brakes with 4-wheel ABS and dynamic rear proportioning are standard on all models.
The 2500 models feature a heavy-duty handling and trailering suspension system.
A Premium smooth ride suspension is standard on 1500 LS and LT models while the LTZ features an AutoRide, road-sensing suspension with automatic rear level control.
2500 Suburban models are powered by a Vortec 6000 V8 engine with Variable Valve Timing and 320 hp @ 5200 rpm and 340 lb.-ft. torque at 4200 rpm.
A FlexFuel version of the Vortec 5300 V8 engine can run on gasoline or a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Standard on all 1500 4x4 models.
The Vortec 5300 V8 engine with Active Fuel Management gives you 320 hp while improving fuel efficiency.

 

Safety

The standard automatic rear differential helps get your vehicle moving when one rear wheel loses traction by directing power to the wheel with the better grip.
The standard dual-stage front driver and passengers air bag system also includes a Passenger Sensing System with status indicator in overhead console.
The Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist detects obstacles behind the vehicle when reversing and alerts you with an audible and visible warning system.
The standard OnStar In-Vehicle Communications and Assistance Service includes a free one-year subscription to the Safe & Sound Plan.
LATCH anchors are standard in all 2nd and 3rd-row seating positions to help correctly install child seats.
Head curtain side-impact air bags provide enhanced protection for all outboard seating positions and stay inflated to protect occupants in the unlikely event of a vehicle rollover.
When the StabiliTrak Vehicle Stability Control System detects a lateral skid it will adjust brake pressure and engine power to restore the vehicle to its intended driving line.
