Interior

Silverado WT and LT models all feature dual glove boxes with nine liters of additional front seat storage.
Touch screen navigation system features a large full colour touch-screen monitor and voice recognition that responds to as many as 26 different commands. Available on Extended and Crew Cab LT and LTZ model.
Available rear DVD entertainment system. It features an 8 inch flip-down colour monitor. Also included are audio/video input jacks for camcorder playbacks and video games. 2 wireless headphones and a remote control unit. Available on Crew Cab models.

With features like a deep cargo box design that increases capacity. Managing your cargo is simplified by the four cargo tie-downs, stake pockets, twotier loading capability and cargo bulkheads.

Mechanical

Eaton Locking Rear Differential. The objective was to provide more torque to the rear wheel with better traction at low speeds on slippery surfaces.
The cornerstone of Silverado 1500 is its strong, stiff boxed frame. The front portion of this advanced design utilizes hydroforming technology. Hydroforming allows for fewer welds, which provides clean attachment points with better fit to frame.
FlexFuel versions of the Vortec 5.3L V8 engine are available, enabling them to run on regular unleaded gasoline or a blend of up to 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.
The Duramax Diesel 6.6L V8 Turbo, available in Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD models, generates more heavy-duty horsepower and overall torque than any competitor.
The 315 horsepower Vortec 5.3L V8 and 367 horsepower Vortec MAX 6.0L V8 engines achieve a higher output, while realizing meaningful gains in fuel efficiency.

All Silverado models come equipped with a standard four-wheel antilock brake system (ABS). The brakes also include Dynamic Rear Proportioning, which regulates front and rear brake pressure to optimize performance under varying load conditions.

  

Safety

The safety belts in Silverado and Silverado HD models are improved and feature belts-to-body-of-the-truck design, as well as belt pretensioning with new energy management retractors (EMRs).
Silverado 1500 models- dual-stage, driver and right front passenger, frontal. Includes front Passenger Sensing System with automatic air bag suppression. Front to rear, side head curtain with rollover sensor.
Driver Information Center , which can display the readout of each individual tire\'s pressure (excludes spare tire) is a standard system on all Silverado models with Single-Rear Wheel.
The Passenger Sensing System detect the weight of the front passenger and suppress the airbag when appropriate.
StabiliTrak monitors steering, wheel speed, brake pressure and lateral acceleration to help return the vehicle to its intended driving line when a skid is detected.
Several enhancement have been made to the body structure to provide added protection in the event of a collision.
OnStar and one year of the Safe & Sound Plan are standard on every 2008 Silverado.

The Cargo Management System is available on all Silverado’s. Sliding hooks in C-channel tracks along the sides and front of the box adapt to different loads, and can be used to attach a range of GM Accessories.
