Interior

Depending on the model you choose, Avalanche offers an array of interior colour selections.
Avalanche offers an available navigation radio that includes a map to help you reach your destination. This helps you get back on track if you happen to make a wrong turn.
The available entertainment system includes a DVD player and overhead flip-down, eight-inch-diagonal color monitor, two sets of wireless headphones and a remote control unit, plus jacks and ports for camcorder playback and video games.
The available Bose premium 7-speaker sound system includes a subwoofer in the centre console and is tuned to match the acoustic properties of the Avalanche’s interior.
LTZ means ultimate comfort with heated, leather-appointed power driver and passenger bucket seats with 12-way adjusters, 2-position memory system and power lumbar adjusters.
LTZ custom leather-appointed 60/40 split-folding rear bench seat. Leather-appointed seats standard in LT and LTZ models.
The LS and LT models feature a standard power six-way driver’s seat. The LTZ adds the luxury of Custom leather-appointed full-feature power 10-way front bucket seats with heated seat cushions and seatbacks.
The Avalanche Z71 Off-Road Package includes a Z71-specific gauge cluster and brushed metal accents.
The Cargo inner sidewalls are made from a high-impact composite - designed to resist scratches and dents. The Midgate is comprised of composite material. While these materials are strong, they\'re lighter than steel, helping reduce overall vehicle weight.
Avalanche’s cabin serves a dual purpose. The Convert-A-Cab System allows the rear of the cabin to be used for seating or for extending the cargo bed.
Folding down the rear seat increases cargo capacity. The rear window can be removed and stowed inside the Midgate.

  

Exterior

Avalanche is available in three model levels – LS, LT and LTZ- to help you find the perfect mix of options, equipment and 10 exterior colours to choose from.

Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist features audio and visual signals to help alert you if an object is behind your vehicle.
LTZ 4x4 in Black with 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, chrome door handles and mirror caps, AutoRide suspension and heated windshield washer fluid system.
Z71 Off-Road Package is available on LT 2WD and 4x4 models. Included in the package: 18-inch aluminum wheels, colour-keyed wheel flares, chrome tubular assist steps and a Z71-specific front fascia.
With the midgate lowered, rear window stowed and three-piece cargo covered removed, Avalanche can transport most ATVs.
The standard 3 piece cargo cover is made from a strong, lightweight composite material with panels that can be individually removed and easily stored onboard.

  

Mechanical

With a standard tow/haul mode automatic transmission, weight-distributing trailer hitch platform, 7-wire harness and 2-in hitch receiver you are trailer-ready right off the lot.
When engaged the rainsense wiper system automatically activates the wipers when water is detected on the windshield. Wiper speed is based on the intensity of the precipitation.
The Autotrac active transfer case is standard on all 4x4 models. It can be set to automatically adjust to road conditions in Auto 4WD or to traditional 2HI, 4HI, 4LO and neutral functions.
The new Avalanche Z71 Off-Road Package features off-road jounce bumpers, gas charged monotube shock absorbers, specially tuned springs and skid plates.
In 2WD models, the Vortec 5.3L V8 engine generates 320 horsepower and 340 lb.-ft. of torque. In 4x4 models, this engine generates 310 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque.
In situations where extra power is not needed — such as cruising down the highway or on level roads — Active Fuel Management deactivates four of the eight cylinders with seamless precision.
The coil-over-shock front suspension with forged-aluminum lower control arms has less sensitivity to smooth road shake.
The front frame bay and components of the steering system on Avalanche help provide precise steering feel and excellent response to driver input.
