The system checks the airbag's electrical system for malfunctions. The light tells you if there is an electrical problem. The system check includes the airbag sensor, the pretensioners, the airbag modules, the wiring and the crash sensing and diagnostic module.
This light will come on when the rear drive system is overheating.
If the ABS light stays on, turn the ignition off, if the light comes on when you are driving, stop as soon as it is safely possible and turn the ignition off. Then start the engine again to reset the system.
With the ignition on, the brake system warning light will come on when you set the parking brake. If you try to drive with the parking brake engaged, a chime will sound when the vehicle speed is greater than 8 km/h.
It should go out once the engine is running. If it stays on, or comes on while you are driving, you may have a problem with the charging system. It makes sure that emissions are at acceptable levels for the life of the vehicle, helping to produce a cleaner environment. The check engine light comes on to indicate that there is an OBD II problem and service is required.
When this light comes on it means that an oil change and other maintenance procedures are required for your vehicle.
The check gages light will come on briefly when you are starting the engine. If the light comes on and stays on while you are driving, check your coolant temperature and engine oil pressure gages to see if they are in the warning zones.
If your vehicle has this light, it will come on if your gas cap is not securely fastened.
This light comes on whenever you set the cruise control.
This light turns on whenever the Daytime Running Lamps are on.
This light will come on when a door is ajar.
This light indicates that the engine coolant has overheated or the radiator cooling fan is not working.
If your vehicle has the Enhanced Traction System (ETS), this light will come on when the system is limiting wheel spin. Slippery road conditions may exist if the Enhanced Traction System active light comes on, so adjust your driving accordingly. The light will stay on for a few seconds after the system stops limiting wheel spin.
The fog lamp light will come on when the fog lamps are in use.
The four-wheel-drive light comes on when you shift a manual transfer case into four-wheel drive and the front axle engages. Some delay between the shifting and the light coming on is normal.
If this light comes on, the liftgate or liftglass is not completely shut. Close the liftgate or liftglass. Never drive with the liftgate or liftglass even partially open.
This light comes on when the high-beam headlamps are in use.
If your vehicle has this feature, this light comes on when the hold mode is active. If the HOLD mode light flashes, have your vehicle checked.
This light comes on whenever the parking lamps are on.
This light and a chime will come on when the fuel tank is low on fuel..
When the light comes on and stays on, it means that oil is not flowing through your engine properly. You could be low on oil and you might have some other system problem.
When this light comes on, you can only shift from FIRST (1) to FOURTH (4) instead of FIRST (1) to SECOND (2). (Only on Corvette's).
When you start the vehicle, the passenger airbag status indicator will light ON and OFF.
This light comes on when a noticeable reduction in the vehicle's performance occurs. The vehicle can be driven at a reduced speed when the reduced engine power light is on, but acceleration and speed may be reduced. The performance may be reduced until the next time you drive your vehicle.
When the engine is started, a chime will come on for several seconds to remind people to fasten their safety belts, unless the driver's safety belt is already buckled. The safety belt light will also come on and stay on for several seconds, then it will flash for several more.
The service four-wheel drive light comes on, to indicate that there may be a problem with the drive system and service is required.
For vehicles with this light, it will come on if a condition exists that may require the vehicle to be taken in for service.
This warning light should come on briefly when the engine is started. If the warning light does not come on then, have it fixed so it will be ready to warn you if there is a problem. If it stays on, or comes on when you are driving, there may be a problem with your StabiliTrak system and your vehicle may need service.
When this warning light is on, the system is off and will not limit wheel spin. Adjust your driving accordingly. This light will also flash when the StabiliTrak system is active.
This light will come on if a problem is detected in the StabiliTrak system.
This light comes on briefly when the engine is started. This light will also come on when one or more of your tires are significantly underinflated.
This light comes on when the Tow/Haul mode has been activated.
If you have the Traction Control System (TCS), this light will come on when the TCS has been turned off. This light will come on briefly when the ignition is turned to ON, if it does not the system may require service.
This light should come on briefly as you start the engine. If the light does not come on then, have it fixed so it will be ready to warn you if there is a problem. (Corvette)
The traction control system warning light may come on for the following reasons:
(1) If you turn the system off by pressing the traction control button. To turn the system back on, press the button again. The warning light should go off.
(2) If there's a brake system problem that is specifically related to traction control, the traction control system will turn off and the warning light will come on. If your brakes begin to overheat, the traction control system will turn off and the warning light will come on until your brakes cool down.
(3) If the traction control system is affected by an engine-related problem, the system will turn off and the warning light will come on.
Your vehicle may have an up-shift light. When this light comes on, you should shift to the next higher gear if weather, road, and traffic conditions allow you to.
