Rick Rzeplinski

Rick has 23 years experience and has been a member of the Schlueter team since February 1990

In 1988, Rick and his wife Mary Warrick were invited to lunch with then Governor General The Right Honourable Jeanne Sauve at her official residence, Rideau Hall, where Rick was awarded the Canadian Medal of Bravery. Late in the night of August 2, 1986, a group of people were having a party aboard a chartered yacht cruising Lake Ontario between Ontario Place and Toronto Island. One man stumbled, fell over a knee-high railing into the water and was left behind in the wake. Rick dove into the water to help. He swam forty metres to the victim, only to find him unconscious, face-down in the lake. He revived him, wedged him firmly into the life-ring with his arms through the ropes, then pushed and pulled the semi-conscious man towards the boat.

In his 23 years of experience with GM in Sales and Sales Management, Rick has been recognized as a Sales Master in the GM Sales & Marketing Guild and a GM Pro Certified Sales Manager. As a Sales Manager, his main responsibilities are to work with sales staff on a daily basis to attain both personal and company goals and forecasts. He helps to manage the ordering, maintaining, and balancing of a $7.5 million dollar inventory and liaises with all departments and departmental managers to provide an excellent and seamless customer experience.

On a typical day, you may find Rick meeting with sales staff on an individual basis to develop price presentations, negotiate client purchases, and process sales. He will communicate with other dealers, locally and nationally, to assist each other in filling orders and attaining product, while maintaining a balanced and seasonably adjusted inventory. He will work to manage and apply factory programs and incentives to maximize customer benefit and assist in creating new sales. He also helps hire, train, coach and support a professional sales staff dedicated to optimum results and customer satisfaction.

Rick and his wife, Mary (his ‘college sweetheart’ for 23 years) are avid travelers and scuba diving enthusiasts (Rick is A PADI Certified Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver). A past trip had them living in Belize with their 2 English Setters and 21 year old cat.

Rick’s favourite car is his wife’s Aveo 5 – he enjoys zipping around town in it and loves the fact that he can fit both kayaks on the roof. His favourite movie is Casa Blanca and he cheers for the Toronto Blue Jays. Rick was born in Toronto, but calls Guelph his home and has been involved in municipal political/mayoral campaigns. He also supports a school program for children in Zambia
