It could be a New Years Eve to remember for Barry Kazimer of Campbell River, B.C., as the retired military veteran has the opportunity to walk away $1 million richer in TSN’s sixth annual, international million-dollar giveaway, the Chevrolet Volt Million Dollar Shootout. As part of the contest, Kazimer also has the chance to win up to three all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volts.
“Growing up, I played road hockey and shot pucks on backyard rinks, so stepping on the ice in front of thousands of people at the World Juniors is a little different from what I’m used to,” said Kazimer. “It’s overwhelming for sure and a little bit surreal, but it’s also a great opportunity and experience for me to share with my family. I’m looking forward to hitting the ice and giving it my best shot on New Year’s Eve.”
Kazimer was randomly selected from more than 26 million totally online entries – a new record for the contest. In total, Kazimer accumulated 1,433 total entries over the course of this year’s Chevrolet Volt Million Dollar Shootout promotion.
The big event airs live nationally on December 31 during the first intermission of the IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP broadcast featuring a classic cross-border match-up with Canada vs. USA (game starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN). Fans can also take in the event on TSN Mobile TV.
