Interior

The Premium Audio Package includes an AM/FM stereo with in-dash six-disc CD changer and premium eight-speaker sound system. Also an auxiliary audio input jack to provide a variety of ways to play your favorite tunes.
LTZ\'s leather-wrapped steering wheel features audio and cruise controls, along with Driver Information Center (DIC) buttons and TAPshift controls. LT and Hybrid feature mounted cruise controls, DIC buttons and audio controls.
The available rear power center features a 110-volt AC converter with a three-prong outlet that lets you power up your electronic equipment without the use of a separate adapter. Available in LT. Also available in 2LT and LTZ (requires Rear Power Package)
Located on the upper instrument panel, the auxiliary glove box is the perfect place to store small items such as a cell phone, CDs and sunglasses.
The power-adjustable brake and accelerator pedals move 2.5 inches forward or rearward to suit your height. They\'re standard on 2LT and LTZ and available on 1LT (requires Power Convenience Package).
TThe covered center armrest storage console provides an ideal place to store large or small items. It features upper and lower storage bins that offer an array of storage options, plus a sliding armrest.
Standard on LS, 1LT and Hybrid, this interior includes reclining front seatbacks, adjustable outboard head restraints, driver power vertical height and manual lumbar adjusters Available in Ebony (shown; not available in LS and Hybrid models), Cocoa/Cashme

The Malibu is available in four different model levels – LS, LT, LTZ and Hybrid – each offering their own mix of equipment and options.
Malibu’s dual-port grille design represents the “New Face of Chevrolet”
The exterior styling of Malibu is dominated by clean, tailored lines and fluid curves. The all new design boasts an elegantly styled dual-port grille. Shown: LTZ grille with silver color. LS, LT and Hybrid models feature a black-color grille insert
Quad-beam halogen headlamps with bright, jewel-like lenses complement the refined exterior styling of Malibu. The headlamps include Daytime Running Lamps with Automatic Exterior Lamp Control.
Integral fog lamps, located in the front fascia, help enhance the contemporary look of Malibu LTZ. These fog lamps are designed to provide enhanced forward illumination in foggy or low-visibility weather conditions.
LTZ models feature tail lamps with LED illumination.
Power-adjustable mirrors from the inside. Outside, they manually fold in both directions to accommodate tight parking maneuvers and to help prevent breakage. The LTZ mirrors (shown) are heated and the driver mirror features auto-dimming.

The exterior of Malibu LTZ is complemented by dual chrome exhaust tips. Also available on 2LT with the Engine Package.
Each model has its own set of stylish wheels from the 16” Fascia-Spoke, Painted Sterling Silver Wheel all the way up to the 18-Inch Ten-Spoke Ultra Bright Aluminum Wheel (Standard on LTZ).

 

Mechanical

The six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive helps maximize the power train\'s performance through the wide spread in the gear ratios. Plus, an overdrive sixth gear lowers rpm at high speeds, while reducing noise, vibration and harshness.
TAPshift allows the driver to manually select the desired gear for performance-like driving or to address specific road conditions.
With an electric motor/generator and nickel metal hydride battery pack, automatic engine shutoff upon stopping, fuel-cutoff during deceleration and regenerative braking
The ECOTEC 2.4L 4-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) is standard in LS and LT and provides 169 horsepower at 6400 rpm.
Include a 164 hp 2.4L DOHC I4 in both regular and Hybrid versions and a 252 hp 3.6L with VVT. The V6 includes a standard 6-speed automatic transmission.

Every Malibu is equipped with dual-stage driver and right front passenger frontal air bags with the Passenger Sensing System, head-curtain side-impact air bags and front seat-mounted thorax air bags.

StabiliTrak is standard on Hybrid, LT and LTZ models and includes Panic Brake Assist.
