Battery Knowledge:

A battery is one of the most critical components of your vehicles electrical system.  However with todays maintenance-free battery technology being so reliable, it is easy to take your battery for granted...that is, until your vehicle doesn't start.

Often there will be no warning signs that your battery is about to fail.  For example, when there is a sudden drop in temperature your vehicles battery starting power is significantly decreased, leaving your battery susceptible to a higher than normal failure rate which could leave you and your loved ones stranded.

Regular battery testing will allow us to monitor the health of your battery and recommend when it is time for a battery replacement.

BATTERY LIFE IN CANADA

  • The average life of a battery in Canada is 56 months or 4.7 years. How long your battery lasts is dependent on a number of factors, including:
  • Your battery's actual cold cranking amps (CCA) and reserve capacity (RC) ratings compared to Acura's minimum required CCA and RC for your vehicle.
  • The average operating temperature of your battery
  • Your driving pattern
  • Excessive electrical loads.
